Acceptance

Happiness can exist only in acceptance.” –George Orwell
Often when I feel frustrated, I write. There are some individuals who play an instrument, others who go for a run, and yes, those who go COMPLETELY INSANE ripping out their hair and everybody else's too, as a way of coping with the stresses of everyday life...but I write. I have been meaning to begin a blog for quite some time now, but my main set back has been that I am particular about who reads what I write because it is typically very personal. With this blog, since I am posting it for the world to see, I hope to find a balance between my personal life and the other things that I'll talk about such as politics, ideas, school, hobbies, ect. Thanks to my amazing cousin Tiffany who gave me the push that I needed, I have decided that there is no better time than now.

"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."
- Carl Rogers

  • Laughter relaxes the whole body. A good, hearty laugh relieves physical tension and stress, leaving your muscles relaxed for up to 45 minutes after.

  • Laughter boosts the immune system. Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, thus improving your resistance to disease.

  • Laughter triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Endorphins promote an overall sense of well-being and can even temporarily relieve pain.

  • Laughter protects the heart. Laughter improves the function of blood vessels and increases blood flow, which can help protect you against a heart attack and other cardiovascular problems.
